Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A. has announced its new Sustainable Development Strategy, setting out the Group's environmental, social, and corporate governance priorities for 2026–2030. The strategy consolidates the initiatives implemented to date while defining new objectives to support the responsible growth of the business.
The overarching goal of the new strategy is to empower people to make informed decisions by providing reliable and accessible information while supporting the sustainable development of the Holding.
"We see sustainable development as a key element of our organisation's long-term resilience and competitiveness. Our new strategy is a natural continuation of the direction we set in 2022, when we published our first ESG Strategy. As one of the largest online technology and media groups, we have a real impact on millions of internet users, customers, and business partners. Today, 93% of the electricity consumed by the Group comes from renewable sources, and by 2030 we aim to significantly reduce our emissions compared with 2025 levels. At the same time, we continue to develop solutions that help users make more informed choices – from providing CO₂ emissions data for travel and promoting certified hotels across Invia DACH's travel platforms to publishing environmental content across our media brands," says Elżbieta Bujniewicz-Belka, CFO of Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A.
The Strategy focuses on four key areas:
Users – Enabling informed choices and improving accessibility
WP Holding aims to help users and customers make informed decisions by providing broad access to services, reliable content, and convenient customer service channels.
Key commitments in this area include:
* maintaining strong media reach and citation performance,
* ensuring offline access through approximately 765 franchise locations,
* maintaining a stable share of customers aged 50+ using the franchise network.
People – Building a fair and attractive workplace
WP Holding is committed to fostering an organisational culture based on engagement, employee well-being, skills development, and equal opportunities. Under the strategy, the Group will:
* measure and improve employee engagement and well-being,
* continuously expand its learning and development programmes,
* maintain the share of women in leadership positions at above 40%.
Environment – Reducing emissions
WP Holding is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations while increasing the share of renewable energy used across the Group. Its objectives include:
* sourcing 100% of electricity used in its own operations from renewable energy,
* powering all data centres with 100% renewable electricity,
* achieving 33% of bookings at hotels holding recognised sustainability certifications.
Corporate Governance – Strengthening governance, compliance, and ethical business practices
WP Holding continues to enhance its governance framework based on transparency, accountability, ethics, and regulatory compliance. As part of this pillar, the Group plans to:
* integrate ESG risks directly into the Group's enterprise risk management system,
* ensure that 90% of the Group's business partners commit to complying with the WPH Code of Conduct.
These are selected objectives from the Strategy. The full document is available at https://holding.wp.pl/zrownowazony-rozwoj.
The launch of the new Strategy marks another important step in strengthening and further structuring Wirtualna Polska Holding's ESG approach.
