Wirtualna Polska’s higher revenues and profit in Q1 2022

In Q1 2022, Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A. increased its net profit by over 65% relative to 2021. WP Ads, a self-service tool for managing advertising campaigns on the advertising space of WP and other publishers, is already used by several hundred clients.Wirtualna Polska is also developing subscription services and for that reason it has acquired shares in Audioteka S.A. and is interested in increasing its stake in this company.

Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A.’s total sales revenues in Q1 2022 stood at over PLN 213 million. This result is over 19% more than in the corresponding period last year. The company's net profit exceeded PLN 45 million, a 65% increase, and adjusted EBITDA exceeded PLN 72 million.

"In the first quarter, results were driven by e-commerce, especially Wakacje.pl, which tripled revenues and recorded results higher than before the pandemic. We also posted a dozen or so percent increase in online advertising sales. In our newest tool for self-service management of advertising campaigns, i.e. WP Ads, we already have several hundred clients, and our revenues there have quadrupled in the last month," says Jacek Świderski, CEO of Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A.

Wirtualna Polska is consistently building its position in subscription services. WP Pilot offers access to online television. Work is also underway to launch a subscription version of the Open FM internet radio. In addition, WP owns 6.5% of shares in Audioteka S.A., leader of the Polish audiobook market, with over 20 thousand books in its library. Wirtualna Polska is interested in increasing its stake in this company.

WP Ads is a self-service tool for managing advertising campaigns on the advertising space of WP and other publishers in the WPartner network. WP Ads offers settlement for actual sales made by the client in retargeting campaigns, while in the CPC model it offers mailing and prospecting display campaigns.

WP Ads also offers display campaigns in the CPC and vCPM model and native advertising in the CPC model. After registering and funding the account at https://ads.wp.pl, you can upload materials and set broadcasting parameters.

Wirtualna Polska is also developing advertising brokerage services within WPartner. It is a SSP (Supply-Side Platform), which allows other publishers to effectively monetize their own advertising space thanks to WP's unique, proprietary technology based on the programmatic model. The solution enables publishers to select the optimal offer in real time, without having to integrate systems with multiple external partners. The network currently handles more than 19 billion ad requests per month.

Profit and loss account highlights

In Q1 2022 Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A. adopted the Sustainable Development Strategy for 2022-2025. The document describes three key areas of activity - environment, society and corporate governance - in which the company will carry out the defined tasks. The top goals include media independence, green energy, climate education, diversity, and cybersecurity. The strategy also includes long-term assumptions, with the implementation horizon up to 2030.
