Tourism Segment Drives WP Holding’s Revenue

2024-05-21

In the first quarter of 2024, Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A. grew its revenue by nearly 13% versus 2023. Net profit surpassed PLN 19 million following nearly 17% growth year-on-year. The tourism segment delivered robust results in the first quarter.

Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A.’s total sales revenue in Q1 2024 was nearly PLN 350 million. This result is just shy of 13% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Adjusted EBITDA climbed 11% to PLN 84 million.

"In the first quarter we owe our robust results to the tourism segment whose year-on-year growth topped 36%. We are looking for savings in advertising, which continues to face macroeconomic pressure. We are also pursuing projects to share the development of our technology with local competitors for the purpose of jointly countering global competitors", says Jacek Świderski, CEO of Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A.

In addition to WP Ads, the most important technology projects undergoing development in the advertising area are WPartner and WPlatform.

WPartner is an SSP (Supply-Side Platform) which enables other publishers to monetize their own advertising space effectively using WP’s unique, proprietary technology based on the programmatic model. The solution allows publishers to select the optimal offer in real time, without having to integrate systems with multiple external partners.

WPlatform is an advertising and publishing tool for medium and small web-based publishers. Within the tool, WP provides its software in the SaaS technology. Publishers can use both the content management system (CMS) used to publish WP sites, as well as an advertising grid, optimization and analytics tools.
