Wirtualna Polska Media purchased 100% stake in AutoCentrum.pl S.A. from the Oponeo Group. The transaction amount was PLN 9.3 million. Rafał Warecki became the new CEO of AutoCentrum.
For years, AutoCentrum has been a trusted source for its users and one of the leaders in the production of video content and aggregation of data for automotive sector products. What WP brings to the table is its experience in the development of the largest automotive content site, Autokult. The combination of high-quality editorial content with an extensive product database regularly updated by users will enable an even better alignment with what users really need. On the basis of AutoCentrum, Wirtualna Polska intends to build a completely new sales product for the automotive market based on the efficiency model.
– After superauto.pl, AutoCentrum has become another investment of WP in the automotive segment, which is becoming increasingly important for the holding. Both in terms of e-commerce and the media – says Jacek Świderski, CEO of Wirtualna Polska Holding S.A.
Rafał Warecki has been appointed as the new CEO of AutoCentrum. He also continues to serve as the managing director of the business, automotive and technology areas at Wirtualna Polska. Zachar Zawadzki, the former CEO of Autocentrum.pl S.A., will become the ambassador of Wirtualna Polska’s automotive segment.
– This is a natural step for the portal, which will move to the next stage of its development and create synergies for the entire automotive area at WP – adds Zachar Zawadzki.
Wirtualna Polska is a media and e-commerce holding group. It owns the WP horizontal portal and it also operates specialized topical websites such as money.pl, WP SportoweFakty and WP abcZdrowie. In the e-commerce sector, WP operates in the area of travel (among others wakacje.pl, nocowanie.pl, eholiday.pl), fashion (domodi.pl and allani.pl), interior design (homebook.pl), house design (extradom.pl), financial services (totalmoney.pl) and the automotive sector (superauto.pl, autocentrum.pl). According to a Gemius/PBI survey, more than 21 million Poles used WP’s Internet products in September 2019.
